The Turkish Inspector

In 1973 the movie 5 Kudretli Adamlar (lit. 5 Mighty Guys, a.k.a. "Turkish Blacula") premiered in Turkey as one of the main characters along with Blacula, El Santo, and advertising Mascot Mister Clean to defeat an extremely violent and sadistic version of Tintin. The movie was popular enough that a live action series premiered in April 1975.

The 1975 Series

From 1975 to 2010 The series Müfettişin uzay ve zamanda maceraları or Adventures of Inspector In Time and space was made to capitalise on the success of the movie and British show. Actor Cüneyt Arkin portrayed the Inspector and his sidekick was played by Oram Necri with a talking sock puppet in different segments.

This inspector did not face the blorgons however but faced a gang of mobsters lead by a sadistic version of TinTin, this gang was cut from the show and replaced with generic aliens and bandits In 1979 to avoid legal disputes between the copyright holders of TinTin.

A New Years spécial was held in 1978 called The New Year Joyous Inspector, an actor wearing a homemade costume of el Santo was Integrated into the story Fighting TinTins mobsters with the Inspector.

The series was cancelled after a accident filming the finale of the final season after the inspector fell out of a dune buggy and broke his leg on set. A poor lookalike inspector was used in the final scenes wearing a fake moustache to impersonate the original actor.
