The Orange Warden is the opposite counterpart of the Blue Warden. He was played by Graeme Garden.

Cosmic entities of immense power but inscrutable motivations, they are easily the most of mystifying all the Immortals. When the Fourth Inspector encountered them in the Season 16's "Bolt of Space" story arc, he learned they served neither good nor evil, chaos nor order. At one point he speculates the two might even be "the universe arguing with itself."

The Orange Warden was an affable if inscrutable antagonist. In the so-called "Orange Warden Trilogy" comprising "Mawdrone Alive", "Genesis", and "The Dark Ages", it's impossible to say in the end what the Warden's enigmatic plan for the Fifth Inspector is, only that it's malevolent (probably). One of his many quirks is his aversion to poetry since his title rhymed with no other word, except when translated to an obscure dialect of Blorgon. He was so delighted by this discovery that he solved their infamous inability to swim by upgrading them with what he jocularly referred to as "a powerboating licence."

The Orange and Blue Wardens were featured, briefly, in the Season 23 "Internal Investigation of the Inspector" story arc, along with the Infinity Knight High Command, three competing factions of Blorgons, the Circuit-Chaps, the Sergeant, the Indictor, and the Instructor. Unfortunately, the plot line was cut short by BTV and was left hanging when the Seventh Inspector era started.
